Craft Haul, May 2016 + Give Away!

Watch my video here: Craft Haul

Hi everyone!  First, I want to say, I’ve been MIA over the past few weeks…not much content.  My nephew was in a horrible motorcycle accident and has been in the ICU…we weren’t sure he would survive. His brain absorbed a lot of impact and he has undergone three separate brain surgeries and has been under a medically-induced coma for three weeks.  The surgeon just took him off the sedation a few days ago and he is not conscious yet, but every day we are seeing a little bit more hope.  Yesterday, he was responding to stimuli and opened his eyes, although we do not know if he can understand us.  He is not out of the woods, but is much more stable.  All of our friends and family have been wonderfully supportive and have been sending our family tons of prayers and I want to thank everyone for that.  A few of us have been living at the hospital for a while…this is the first few days I’ve been able to get back into my craft room and not feel guilty about it….and boy did I need it.

So lately, there has not been much outlet for my creative juices except shop and organize some things.  This is one out of three I’ll be posting this week.  I actually ordered from Stampin Up and Simon Says Stamp! lol  Those are two stores I usually stay away from because of the high shipping costs, but I had a $25 off $100 for SSS and for SU I just ate it cause I just needed to order some ink pads. lol

To explain a little more of what I was saying in my video, I’ve been a stamper/scrapbooker for almost 20 years.  My girlfriends said I could run a store out of my craft room…you name it…I had it! lol I lived and breathed everything SU and had all their inks, but about 7-8 years ago I stopped doing both.  When I started crafting again, 2-3 years ago, I found it extremely difficult to begin…all of my supplies were old, outdated, stamp pads were dry…I didn’t know where to start, so I purged.  And when I say purge….I mean *purge* lol.  I sold, gave away, donated and threw out 90% of my things.  Stamps, ink pads, paper pads, cricut machines, die cuts, sizzix machines, pazzles…all of it. NOTHING was safe!  I figured I needed to start over, so I joined Studio Calico to start…and that was okay. Went to Michaels and Hobby Lobby…I was paralyzed…I felt like a brand new scrapbooker/stamper overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start!  I wasn’t familiar with any of the brands, or styles….and when did we ever have 12 different companies to choose from for ink pads!?!?!

Then I found YouTube….and I caught up real quick thanks to all the great ladies out there who video hauls for our viewing pleasure.  Though, up until now, I still hadn’t decided on which ink pad were for me.  It’s a big investment and I don’t want to make the wrong decision.  I am definitely a “collection” girl, I would feel lopsided if I only had half the inks in a line! lol

After some research, I decided on investing in the Lawn Fawn dye inks and the new SU dye inks.  Those are the two I like.  I like the way they stamp, I like the colors available and I trust the brands.

Anyhooo….I could go on forever! lol Enjoy the haul!
